November Meetings… at CB#2 and in NoHo

We have long been concerned with the venting onto the sidewalk at the Great Jones Cafe. Their OP license is up for renewal and we have asked that they be called up for a hearing on next Tuesday’s agenda. Since, we have been in conversation with the owners who have assured us that pending re-negotiation of their lease they will sit down with neighbors to improve the venting situation.

Two additional new SLA Licenses on Thursday’s SLA Agenda: Thurs., 11/15 @ 6:30 PM-St. Anthony of Padua, 151-155 Sullivan St. Lower Hall

45 Bleecker St. – The previous operators at the 45 Bleecker Theatre, now The Culture Project were granted a Wine & Beer license. We have had several meetings with the new applicants and anticipate a complimentary Community Agreement that will both protect the neighborhood and provide a framework for venue that can support a valued performance-based venue in NoHo.

55 Bond St. – the former Hung-Ry has been purchased thru a bankruptcy proceeding by a new entity. This was on last months agenda and laid over pending a community conversation. The application is for a Wine and Beer license that we originally denied that was over-ridden by the SLA. An offer for a meeting with the applicants has been made for Wednesday, Nov 14th at 11:00 am.   We are attempting to find an alternate time and have notified neighbors. NoHo-Bowery Stakeholders have expressed their opposition to the granting of this license and has collected more than 100 signatures in opposition. Sign the petition, write to CB#2 Manhattan (gormley@cb2manhattan.org) or attend the meeting.

The previously scheduled hearing for Wednesday, Nov 14th on an NYU BSA application for 726-730 Broadway (426 Lafayette St.) has been postponed pending meetings with the NoHo-Bowery Stakeholders for further discussion.
