NoHo Liquor License Applications – New and Coming

And the Beat Goes on for NoHo Liquor License Applications

This month it starts with a four-license distillery project!

NoHo-Applications_Great Jones

The Great Jones Distillery, an entity seeking three NoHo liquor license applications at 686 Broadway, first appeared in July, but will be heard at CB#2 on Tuesday, Dec. 12th at 6:30pm, St. Anthony of Padua Church, 151-155 Sullivan St., Lower Hall.  In addition to the “distillery” shown above on the second floor, there will be four bar/restaurants plus a package store (which requires an additional retail liquor license) at the front entrance.  A Community meeting has been set up for Thursday, Dec. 7th at LaMama, 47 Great Jones St., 6th Floor, where Andrew Merinoff, the applicant, will present the plan and NoHo stakeholders will have a chance to ask questions.

There are a long list of issues with this application, not the least of which is suitability for the neighborhood and existing saturation of both licensed venues and existing package stores.  You can see our earlier post itemizing issues.  You can also register an opinion on our online survey.

Atla, at 372 Lafayette (corner of Great Jones) is a NoHo liquor license application for an alteration to expand hours.  They are seeking an additional hour on their license, for closing at 2:00 am, seven days a week.

Suri Restaurant Corp., d/b/a Bari, at 417 Lafayette St. is seeking a full license for the space that used to be Colors.  We have no information on this application; there is no application listed on the State Liquor Authority, either.

RENEWALS:  Asia De Cuba at 415 Lafayette St., Bleecker Kitchen & Co. at 643 Broadway, and Slainte at 304 Bowery are seeking renewals.

Also to be heard at CB#2’s Quality of Life Committee will be an application for an unclosed sidewalk cafe for the newly opened Gino Sorbillo, LLC, d/b/a Gino Sorbillo at 334 Bowery.  They are seeking 8 tables and 16 chairs.  This wil also require an alteration application for their NoHo liquor license.  The SLA Committee has failed to include this on their agenda for
December.  The sidewalk cafe hearing is on  Mon., Dec. 11th at 6:30 PM- NYU Building, 19 University Place, Room 102.
