Meghan Coleman and Kathy Grayson, both former directors at the legendary and now-closed Deitch Gallery, open new gallery at 312 Bowery

Kathy Grayson’s new gallery The Hole is an exciting addition to the Bowery art scene. The 29-year-old former director of Jeffrey Deitch’s Wooster St space has taken up where Deitch left off following his departure to curate MoCA in LA.  The Hole, which will house work by many of Deitch’s former artists, opens June 9th with a fun, experiential show simply called, :), by the Miami duo FriendsWithYou. Large inflatable sculptures, spinning candies and winking paintings; 🙂 encourages interaction and laughter with an air of childlike wonderment, a perfect show to kick off summer on the Bowery. FriendsWithYou, artists Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III, are also doing a large-scale environmental installation in Chelsea this summer called “Rainbow City,” where forty of their signature inflatable sculptures illuminate a lot on 30th st. The Hole opening next Thursday, June 9th, at 7 pm. Come celebrate the start of summer and support Kathy Grayson in her bringing the perfect energy to the Bowery. Let’s welcome them to the neighborhood.
