NoHo-Bowery Stakeholders

NNoHo-Bowery StakeholdersNoHo-Bowery Stakeholders, Inc. (NBS) is a nonprofit corporation formed in the Fall of 2011 as a Community Benefit Organization

It serves the interests of residents, merchants, artists and designers, property owners, nonprofits, institutions, landmarks in the NoHo-Bowery area from Astor Place to Houston St. and from the east side of Bowery to Mercer St. 2020 membership exceeded 400 stakeholders across a broad spectrum of interests and represents more than 1,000,000 sq. ft. of the NoHo-Bowery area.

NBS has a paid annual membership on a sliding scale according to the size of property owned or leased.  There is a seven member Board of Directors and an 16+ member Board of Advisers.  A copy of the NoHo-Bowery Stakeholders By-Laws is available upon request.

Benefits include coverage at Community Board #2 hearings and meetings, participation in hearings at City Council, City Planning Commission, Landmarks Preservation Commission, Board of Standards and Appeals according to positions reviewed and voted upon by the membership. We take an active interest in the Departments of Transportation, Sanitation, Parks as well as The Mayors Office of Street Activities and Permits.  NBS regularly appears before the State Liquor Authority regarding licensing in this area.

We also maintain this blog and the NoHoManhattan website (nohomanhattan.org) and have presence on Instagram….just to be sure that anybody who is anybody, or not,  can appreciate our neighborhood and the City we share.
